The department was established at graduate level in 1965, with two faculty members. At present dept. is facilitated with library & lab. Many equipments are provided to student in zoology lab. & different specimen of animals related to different phylum (vertebrate & invertebrate) are provide to the students as per their curiosity.

We  annually organize academic tour for the improvement of the knowledge & connection of students with nature.

Since our dept. has only U.G. courses so dept. had not been approved by university as research centre. But seperately,  a research lab has been established to elaborate the research work related with the field (Major carp) In this regard, we have a fish aquarium, reference book, literature & journals.

Many students, from this department have established themselves in modern & technological work in different fields & different jobs.

Different co-curricular activities are conducted here in the department. For the development of student personality programs like-debate competition, essay competition, seminar, guest lecture etc. are held.
